Powder Coating, Assembly, & Shop Technician
[ MONTREAL, QC ] [ FULL-TIME ] [ ASAP ]
SolidGoldFX and Diamond Pedals design and manufacture premium boutique guitar effects used by musicians worldwide. We build everything in-house — from CNC-machined enclosures to final assembly and testing — and we take pride in quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented technician to join our production team in a hands-on role that includes powder coating, pedal assembly, and general shop support.
Responsibilities
Powder Coating
- Prepare aluminum enclosures (cleaning, masking, racking)
- Apply powder coat using electrostatic spray equipment
- Operate curing ovens
- Inspect finished parts for quality and consistency
- Track batches and production flow
Pedal Assembly
- Mechanical assembly of guitar pedals (hardware, jacks, switches, knobs)
- PCB installation and wiring
- Soldering (through-hole components and wire connections)
- Basic electronics troubleshooting
- Final QC testing and packaging
General Shop Support
- Weekly shop cleaning and workstation maintenance
- Maintaining clean and organized powder room and assembly areas
- Basic material handling and inventory organization
- Assisting with shop upkeep and light maintenance tasks
- Supporting team members across departments as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in powder coating, spray finishing, or similar industrial process (preferred)
- Experience in electronics assembly and soldering
- Comfortable performing general labour and physical tasks
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to follow documented procedures
- Organized and self-motivated
- Interest in music or guitar gear is a bonus
